The Sixth “Game” has been “Throne”: Game of Thrones Fandom
Um, who else can hardly wait for season six’s premiere of Game of Thrones? Neither can we, here at fanpage.com! Rumors have it the sixth season was picked up in April of 2014, and is scheduled to premiere in April of 2016. With the growing fandom of such a series, and as in depth and addictive as this, there are likely to be thousands of fans hanging on by the edge of their seats to see what becomes of the intricate ensemble the show offers in terms of cast. It was said that during the filming of the third season, 257 characters had been recorded – and the show itself apparently has the largest cast on television today! Wow, impressive.
Set in the middle-ages, Game of Thrones’ story often absorbs one’s interest to such an extent that the audience is left feeling as though they are likewise in the same time period. Forgetting where we are ourselves, the creators of the show are brilliant at allowing us to feel like we are a part of the on-going drama in front of the camera.
While we all have our favorite characters on Game of Thrones, and can identify with at least one or two – we also have those that we vehemently abjure. Like that little p…unk, the prince, turned King, Joffrey. And who likes the late King’s wife’s father, either? Who adores Sansa? And wishes they had the spunk and scrappiness of Arya? What will become of all of the characters we adore and admonish?
Answers to the plethora of questions undoubtedly lurking inside of our minds will hopefully be answered by the time the sixth season of the series premieres. Until then we just have to wait patiently. And hopefully set aside our urge to surf YouTube for clips of previous seasons. No, really. Try really hard to be patient.
